The mission of the Digital Health Division is to promote excellence in the research and development of Digital Health to foster good health and well-being, as well as quality of education in Digital Health in accordance to the sustainable development goals of the UN and to link structures for the dissemination and exchange of information among key stakeholders.

The 6th International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics – ICBHI, 2024

The 1st Latin American Conference on Digital Health – CLASD and the 10th Latin American Congress of Biomedical Engineering – CLAIB, 2024
The X edition of CLAIB and the first edition of CLASD 2024, took place in Panama City, sponsored by IFMBE and hosted by CORAL and APIB. Around 200 participants from Latin America (Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Paraguay and Brazil) and beyond attended.

Challenge @ ICBHI 2024
The IFMBE Scientific Challenge at ICBHI 2024 organized by the Digital Health Division. In this edition the IFMBE Scientific Challenge is titled “Mind-Reading Emotions”, and the goal is to identify (predict) the valence class and valence rating of the emotion felt by the participant in each trial just by looking into its brain activity and body physiological responses.

Aggregate medical data can easily be shared and global sources such as WHO’s are available; mechanisms to safely share individual data to the benefit of all are currently being explored. At the institutional level, the International Science Council related bodies WDS (World Data System) and Codata advocate the FAIR principles.
