Mission Statement

The mission of the Digital Health Division is to promote excellence in the research and development of Digital Health to foster good health and well-being, as well as quality of education in Digital Health in accordance to the sustainable development goals of the UN and to link structures for the dissemination and exchange of information among key stakeholders.

    The organization implies the existence of a private database of Biomedical data and a relevant scientific research question to be addressed using this database. After the challenge the data is made open.

    Challenge @ EMBEC 2024

    Call for participation in the IFMBE Scientific Challenge at EMBEC2024 organized by the Digital Health Division. In this edition of the IFMBE Scientific Challenge, the goal is to predict responses of genetically modified HEK (human embryonic kidney cells) to pulsed electric fields. The motivation includes finding new relationships between the shape and size of the cells and their influence on the response of intracellular Ca2+ concentrations as a response to stimulation with pulsed electric fields.

    Open Data in Health

    Aggregate medical data can easily be shared and global sources such as WHO’s are available; mechanisms to safely share individual data to the benefit of all are currently being explored. At the institutional level, the International Science Council related bodies WDS (World Data System) and Codata advocate the FAIR principles.
